Colossians 3:12-15
“Therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, put on tender mercies, kindness, humility, meekness, longsuffering; bearing with one another, and forgiving one another, if anyone has a complaint against another; even as Christ forgave you, so you also must do. But above all these things put on love, which is the bond of perfection. And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to which also you were called in one body; and be thankful…”
Why is this SOOOO hard? Why does it have to be so hard to love people? To live with the peace of God and to put on kindness, meekness, long-suffering and tender mercies? To forgive once and for all, like Christ forgave us? Please pray that I can fight my sin today and lean on Christ to really put on these attributes, not just pretend like I have put them on, so that I might bring joy to my Father in Heaven. I want to be kind and gentle and put on love, but my sinful self is envious, and hateful, and divisive; it LOVES clinging to those feelings of anger and an unforgiving heart. bleehhhhhh Praise God for forgiveness and His mercy, which is renewed every single day.
